Why called a NutriMeter?
Apparently we were the first to use BRIX Readings and Ratings in our "Fresh Produce and Organics" store in Trentham, Victoria, Australia in 2010.
Some 4 years later, in 2014, Whole Foods in the USA claimed they were first in the world to do the same.
Consumers had never heard of a BRIX meter, and so we explained who Dr. Brix was, and that BRIX optical graduations had been regarded as the best 'objective' measure of produce quality for past 200 years by Food Scientists and Health Authorities.
They then said "You cannot call it a BRIX meter as a new cafe' called BRIX had just opened in Melbourne. Why not call it a Nutri Meter, as that is what it does!"
NutriMeter and NDI (Nutrient Density Indices) are now Trade Marked in Australia!
