About Soil
What is the Best Soil?
Crops and plants have different nutrient / input requirements.
So, understand what your plant needs first, then prepare your soil appropriately. There are a number of low cost tools to help you here.
Again, we recommend natural ways of enriching soil such as composts. worm juice or similar. Worms are your "forever" fertiliser - just keep feeding them.
About Produce
Are you finding produce tasting sweeter than before?
Probably, as from Jan, 2026, we can now buy GMO Tomatoes legally and soon many more produce items. You have been able to buy NBT (New Breeding Techniques - similar to GMO) modified produce in order to circumvent Australian anti-GMO laws (in effect until Dec., 2025).
So, if you wish to avoid the long-term effects of a double whammy of:
- Sugar / fructose laden produce, and
- GMO / NBT
then there are 2 Nx models which measures both nutrient density and sugar content levels in one read:
- NxC - Consumer grade, designed for Customers to, fast and easily, pick the best from what is on front of them in 4-5 auto-scans:
- NxL - Lab grade, a 12 sec scan for more accurate readings for greater integrity, useful for Farmers and Research purposes.
Both do the same functions of readings :

- Sugar Content Indices (SCI), and
- SCI / NDI Ratios', so that one can identify / compare artificially sugar laden produce with natural produce.

"Industrial" large scale Farming are facing diminishing returns.

- Farming input costs are going up. Most industrial farmers do what they are told to do!
- Increasing fertilization only worsens the problem - extracting more and more nutrients from depleting soils. Are we heading for a dust bowl, like the USA in 1930?
- Food miles of the average shopping cart's food items have increased from 16 000Kms. (Ceres 2007) to 70000 kms (AI 2025), not a good result for Carbon increases?
- Result : our Nations' Health Costs keep going up!
