Where are we going regarding healthy food?

Industrial Farming* is facing diminishing returns (CSIRO)

Soil and produce quality is diminishing, farming input costs are going up as well as our Nations' health costs.

Increasing fertilizers only  exacerbates  the problem - extracting more and more nutrients from depleted soils.

* large scale, mechanised.

Where are we going regarding healthy food?

Industrial Farming* is facing diminishing returns (CSIRO)

 Regenerative agriculture is a conservation and rehabilitation approach to food and farming systems. It focuses on topsoil regeneration, increasing biodiversity,[1] improving the water cycle,[2] enhancing ecosystem services, supporting biosequestration,[3] increasing resilience to climate change, and strengthening the health and vitality of farm soil. (Wiki).

The 3 main factors influencing high NDI are:

  • good quality soil. apropraite to the plant
  • picking at the right time of it's ripeness curve, and
  • eaten fresh!
