The NutriScale system (as above) was first patented in 2008, but we found it too tedious to record everything we ate or drank, despite the small mobile scale linked to your Mobile phone for fast and accurate recordings anywhere at any time!
Measurement Criteria : We use the NHMRC (National Health and Medical Research Councils') recommendations on your / your household's Recommended Nutritional Intake (RNI), for 56 'essential nutrients' for healthy living, and based on age, sex, height, weight and physical activity, which can be adjusted according to your Nutritionists advice.
Input Data : We use Food Standards ANZ (FSANZ) food data +8000 food items) to calculate your and/or your family's total nutrient intakes, based on the 'average' BRIX reading and rating for fresh produce. 'Excellent" produce is typically 4 times the food value and taste as "poor".
Our design principles have always being fast and easy, 2-3 sec scan to identify the food item, and 2-3 secs to weigh it. Computers. mobiles and related devices make this possible, if well designed and operated efficiently.
So, in 2018, we developed the periodic "Spot Check" approach in FindGoodFood, as and when your and/or your households' circumstances changed.
